A film made by Stephenson / Bishop  for The Modern House, on architect Adam Richards’ Nithurst Farm in West Sussex. A home he describes as ‘a Roman ruin wrapped around a modern concrete house’.

Open House London comissioned me to make a film about Kingston School of Art’s Mill Street building in London, redesigned by Haworth Tompkins in 2019.

Stephenson / Bishop were comissioned by The Modern House to make a film about Sally Mackareth and her story-book inspired house created from a former Victorian stable in King’s Cross, London.

Stephenson / Bishop made a film for wayfinding and graphic design specialists Holmes Wood. This film explains their philosophy when designing wayfinding for a building – the idea that a visitor to a space be made to feel ‘Comfortably Lost’.

International architecture firm Benoy commissioned Stephenson / Bishop to film 15 of their key projects across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In addition to the 15 Building Study films, individual clips were also embedded into their website, making the footage integral to their rebrand.

Stephenson / Bishop worked with architectural publisher The Developer to create a place study of the King’s Cross development in London, looking at user experience in the new realm of public / private land and those that are using the space.

Jim Stephenson and I were comissioned to make a film for EPR Architects, documenting their project at 24 Saville Row in collaboration with ceramicist Kate Malone MBE.

Stephenson / Bishop were commissioned by design agency Holmes Studio to create visual assets as part of signmakers Rivermeade’s rebrand. We spent a few days in their West London factory creating a short documentary film alongside a library of portraits, detail & product shots of the factory.

Jim Stephenson and I make occasional, short, 2 minute mini-documentaries on people in the creative industries that we find inspiring. In this film we visited legendary graphic designer Anthony Burrill at his studio and asked him about his work and creative process.

I spent a week in 2016 filming in Iceland for Hálendid (The Highland Project), interviewing musicians, artists and farmers, all trying to persuade the government to turn the land into a national park. Images from the project are here.

When Ben Watt returned to the studio in 2014 to record Hendra, his first solo album in 30 years, he asked me to document the process. The film includes live footage and interviews with Bernard Butler, David Gilmour and Ewan Pearson.
