Sunkhaze
Sunkhaze is a blueberry farm in northern Maine, an hour's drive down an overgrown dirt track off the logging roads that run between Canada and America.
The area is so sparsely populated that in a geographical survey mapping out communities and drawing boundaries in the area, the farm was classified as its own township. A township with a population of two, husband and wife Steve and Shannon.
There are no phone lines, electricity or running water. The couple live in total isolation at their farm apart from 4 weeks each summer when a handful of workers travel in from the nearest town to help with the blueberry harvest.
These same individuals return every summer, some having done so for more than 30 years, where they live for a month in the small wooden structures dotted around the farm.
