A film made for FCBStudios exploring model making as a craft, a tool for design and a means of communication. Premiered as part of the Architecture Foundation’s 100 Day Studio

Stephenson / Bishop were commissioned to film (and photograph) Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries at the Science Museum, for design and wayfinding experts Holmes Wood.

Stephenson / Bishop‘ made a film for wayfinding and graphic design specialists Holmes Wood. This film explains their philosophy when designing wayfinding for a building – the idea that a visitor to a space be made to feel ‘Comfortably Lost’.

International architecture firm Benoy commissioned Stephenson / Bishop to film 15 of their key projects across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In addition to the 15 Building Study films, individual clips were also embedded into their website, making the footage integral to their rebrand.

Stephenson / Bishop worked with architectural publisher The Developer to create a place study of the King’s Cross development in London, looking at user experience in the new realm of public / private land and those that are using the space.

As ‘Stephenson / Bishop‘, Jim Stephenson and I were comissioned to make a film for EPR Architects, documenting their project at 24 Saville Row in collaboration with ceramicist Kate Malone MBE.


Between July and August 2018 Brighton gallery Fabrica hosted ‘Getting There‘, an installation by artist Jo Lathwood who wanted to explore the concept of making a journey in one spot. Photos of the installation are here.

Jim Stephenson and I make occasional, short, 2 minute mini-documentaries on people in the creative industries that we find inspiring. In this film we visited legendary graphic designer Anthony Burrill at his studio and asked him about his work and creative process.


I spent a week in 2016 filming in Iceland for Hálendið (The Highland Project), interviewing musicians, artists and farmers, all trying to persuade the government to turn the land into a national park. Images from the project are here.

Kate Moross is a designer working in the music industry with artists such as Sam Smith and Jessie Ware. Jim Stephenson and I met with her as part of our ongoing Lightbulb series – short 2 minute documentaries on creative process.


When Ben Watt returned to the studio in 2014 to record Hendra, his first solo album in 30 years, he asked me to document the process. The film includes live footage and interviews with Bernard Butler, David Gilmour and Ewan Pearson.

Flowers and Sea Creatures are an electronic duo from Canada. To accompany the release of their debut album I was commissioned to travel to Montreal and spend a week with the band, making a short documentary to accompany the launch of their album.

In 2018 I shot the music video for Tracey Thorn’s single ‘Sister’, taken from her album ‘Record‘. Filming took place in Lulot Gardens, part of the iconic Whittington Estate.


David Gilmour appeared as a guest on Ben Watt‘s last album ‘Hendra’ .
